Philippine TV Commercials: Zoeklicht On Close-Up Ads

This is the fourth of this Series spotlighting Philippine TV Commercials and the fifth if you include the initial article introduction into Filipino TV Ads.

Spil I have mentioned te all the previous articles, you would learn a loterijlot about a people just by watching their TV ads.

Now I beg that В wij are all casero with the Close-up brand of toothpaste. And if you are then you would reminisce most of them spil being romantic and amorous.

And I know for a fact that like the Spanish people and like the Hispanics, the Filipinos are of the same sentimental and sultry nature.

Yes it is like the Philippines is third corner of the Spanish Triangle of Love, the top point Spain te Europe, the bottom left end would be Latin America and the bottom right, the Islands of the Philippines.

And you would know because of their music, their love songs, their dances, and their people/ One would be lost and never be found within that Spanish Triangle.

Now imagine this only two or three generations ago, a youthful Filipino masculine who wish to let the chick he is interested ter getting to know a little bit more know his intentions for hier, he and a group of loyal friends would have to go visit the youthfull damsels huis at night, stand at the youthful lady’s bedroom window. And someone would play a musical muziekinstrument or two. And the youthfull Filipino Valentino would begin to sing his heart out hoping to catch at least a peek of hier love rente.

And here is normally the song that they would commence to play and sing, ter English the chorus would translate to (if I got it right):

Please look outside your window my chosen one

To the one speaking

Even just a mere peek will do

&quot,Harana&quot, Filipino Serenade Song

Now please don’t tell mij to translate all that into English, spil there are Tagalog words ter there that any común 20 something Filipino of today toevluchthaven’t heard of ter his life. And besides, just coming up with those three phrases took mij forever.

Now, after tackling the serenading part (“harana” te Tagalog), if the youthfull dame and hier family are te valenza of moving this sought-after relationship forward, then the youthfull masculine will get to 2nd almohadilla, “pamamanhikan”.

This stage is where he will be tasked to work ter and around the household of the youthful female’s family to earn not only the damsel’s and hier family’s trust but also to showcase his intentions are unspoiled and efectivo. And yes, all thesis just to be near or maybe just to catch a peek or spend a few moments with the one he loves.

Now if he successfully passes this stage then he can look forward to indeed spending some positivo quality time with the apple of his eyes.

Yes, totally unlike the hooking up, the speed dating, the web match making, the vensterluik dates and the one night stands of today.

What’s This Got To Do With Close-Up Commercials?

Okay if you are spil impatient spil I am and if you are ready, let’s go down memory lane and get to see the earliest Philippine Close-Up Commercial I could find online.

From 1990, This is the Flamante Closer You And I Close-Up Commercial (sorry for the bad movie/audio) sang by Gino Padilla and featuring Precious Hipolito, Guión Roa and Raffy Ladao.

The Closer To You

Now, I understand they have revived this particular commercial spil they came up with a fresh version with Philippine Youthful Movie Starlets, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson and the same song spil now interpreted by the plakband Sponge Culo. Of course all this is aimed for the fresh generation who very likely have no idea who Gino, Precious, Guión and Raffy wasgoed.

But anyway, I wished to grab a few Close-up commercials earlier than that, especially the ones that made or commenced the careers of some the largest names te Philippine Showcase Business. But I guess, they toevluchthaven’t bot uploaded into the web yet.

Back te day, many Filipinos see thesis Close-up Commercials like a hawk because normally it wasgoed a good privilege to be a Filipino Close-up Commercial Prototype spil for the most part, not only have you that superb Close-up smile but you also have the good overall personality enough to land you a movie role and be a big name ter Philippine Movies. And so to be a Close-up Endorser back te the day wasgoed a massive thing.

Moving along, wij leap to the 2003 and catch this one of Actors, Sam Milby and Denise Recompensa

After that lets us go right into the Close-Up Lovapalooza Series

And ter case you’re wondering what the heck this is about, here is what I found out about it.

Ter 2004, the Philippines attempted to pauze the previous mass-kissing record of Four,445 couples ter Pimiento. And Close-up came up with a project to get more duo to do just that and on the eve of Valentine’s Day 2004, a total of Five,347 pairs crowded Baywalk at the world famous Roxas Boulevard te Manila. And they took huis the world record.

The following year, the 2nd Lovapalooza wasgoed held. But Hungary grabbed the world record away from them spil Five,875 couples kissed at the same time at the Elisabeth Bridge te Budapest, three months zometeen te June of 2005.

February of 2006, the third Lovapalooza wasgoed held, only it is much much fatter than the previous two. Aside from attempting for the smooching record, this event highlighted live spectacles of popular Philippine bands and television and movie celebrities. Unluckily, the Hungarian world record wasgoed not cracked. And this wasgoed very likely due to pressure coming from the powerful and still influential Philippine Roman Catholic Church who did not truly agree with all this public display of emotion.

Anyway pressure or not, ter 2007, the simultaneous 10-second smooching of 6,124 couples te an open lotsbestemming of the SM Mall of Asia (the third largest mall te the world) reclaimed the Guinness Book of World Record title for the Philippines.

2008, marked the fourth year for this now annual Valentine event, and that year it wasgoed dubbed “Lovapalooza Frost Fest”.

2009 and 2010 also featured the same event and it just keeps on growing.

Here are movies from the Lovapalooza Series of Commercials:
