There are TV dating shows – and then there’s Channel 4’s newest effort Hello Stranger.
Because this is a dating showcase with a difference – spil there’s more to it than simply sending the couples out and hoping they get along.
Nope, there’s a spot of hypnosis involved.
Here’s what you can expect and how it all works…
What is Hello Stranger and how does it work?
While dating shows generally attempt to match up fresh people, Hello Stranger has a slightly different twist to it – te that it sends existing couples out on dates ter a bid to reinvigorate their relationships.
There’s just one catch tho’ – beforehand the couples fall under ‘amnesia hypnosis’ to make them leave behind about one another – and then they’re sent out on three dates, one of which is with their playmate (who they then treat spil however they’ve never met before).
All of which beggars the question – will they find they have more chemistry with one of their other dates or will they fall for their other half all overheen again?
Who are the very first duo on the showcase?
The very first display sees vloggers Lucy and George – who run YouTube channel The Jummy Vlog – go under hypnosis spil they waterput their partnership to the test – but how will they get on when they ‘meet’ for the very first time?
Who is the hypnotist involved?
The couples are hypnotised by Aaron Calvert, who originally trained te medicine at Nottingham University but has now focused on a career spil a hypnotist – and has bot making quiebro a name for himself on stage.
Aaron – whose showcase has bot described by critics spil ‘jaw-dropping’ – is appearing live at Urmston Grammar Theatre, Manchester, on July 12th before taking his display to Edinburgh’s Gilded Balloon from August 1st-26th.
When is it on?
You can see how the couples fare when Hello Stranger kicks off on Channel Four on Tuesday night at 10pm.
